Volkswagen will use this year Geneva Motor Show to introduce another version of the current Golf Variant model. The popular hatchback is offered in GTD version also.
 
Engine 
 
As you would expect the all new Volkswagen Golf Variant GTD uses the same 2.0 litre TDI unit, same as the hatchback model. The four-cylinder unit delivers 184 hp and 380 Nm for the joy of the ride. The engine takes the Golf GTD Variant to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 7.9 seconds. Yet the sporty Variant car boast impressive fuel consumption figures of only 4.4 litres per 100 km (53 mpg).
 
Exterior
 
On the outside, we find a honeycomb radiator grille and special GTD bumpers; also the Golf GTD Variant features flared sills and smoked rear lights. The look is completed by 17-inch Curitiba alloy wheels, dual chrome tailpipes, and black roof rails.
 
Interior
 
Inside, the dynamic theme continues, with illuminated door sills, black headliner, sports seats in Clark tartan, and black pillar trims. Also, there are panels in Checkered Black and numerous decorative inserts, plus stainless steel caps on the pedals. Further refinements include the multifunction steering wheel with aluminum trim and the gear knob styled as a golf ball.
 
Pricing
 
After its official unveiling during Geneva Motor Show, the Golf GTD Variant will be available to at a price of 31,975 euros.
