BMW has released a video staring its famous E31 8 Series. This video is a reminder of how successful this innovative car was back in its day.

Dubbed the "Great Eight", the car was created in 1989 and it was the first BMW coupe. Also a first was the fact that the car had a drag coefficient of less than 0.3, due to the body modern shape.

Talking about power we have to note here that the model was equipped with a variety of engines over the years, but the range-topping 850CSi had a 5.6-liter V12 that developed 380 HP which allowed the car to have a top speed of 250 km/h

On the other hand, this video in which a BMW project manager (Niels Hamann) talks about "the Great 8" might be more than just a reminder of a car. Rumors has it that BMW is considering a new 8-Series coupe possible influenced by the Gran Lusso Coupe concept. So who knows, maybe the company is cooking something up.
