Vauxhall has also unveiled the new RAD e in Geneva this year, an e-bike design study designed around automotive manufacturing methods.
The RAD e uses a pedelec propulsion system based on a 250 watt electric motor linked to lithium-ion battery, which can provide an instant 40 Nm of torque.
This system enables the Vauxhall RAD e to have an electrically supported range of 40 to 90 miles and attain an average top speed of 20 Km/h.
Instead of exotic light-weight materials the RAD e has been constructed from a hallow pressed-steel frame, which is light and strong but also flexible and easy to make. Just like the RAK e Concept, the RAD e uses a smartphone-based control unit that provides real-time data on range, speed and location.
