Opel's British arm announced yesterday that a new important step has been passed as production for Vauxhall Ampera has started with the first pre-production unit rolling off GM's Pre-Production Operations' assembly line in Warren, Michigan. The Vauxhall Ampera is also fitted with an engine generator that charges the battery, and this way the car is able to cover more that 300 miles.
