Suzuki Regina, Q and Swift EV Hybrid

The Suzuki stand at the Tokyo Motor Show this year will exhibit no less than three new concepts.

These are the Suzuki Regina the Q and the Swift EV Hybrid, each in accordance with their stand's theme - "small cars for a big future". These new concepts are all about fuel economy, user friendliness, innovation, performance and styling within small dimensions, and point to the path the automaker wants to follow in the near future and the more distant future.

The Suzuki Regina represents an idea for a new generation compact car with global ambitions. It weights only 730 Kg, is at least 10 percent more aerodynamic than current models and the petrol engine from under its skin is responsible for consumption and emissions figures of 32 Km/litre and 70 grammes per Km.

The Suzuki Q Concept is a micro two-seater measuring 2.5 metre in length designed for everyday journeys within a radius of approximately 10 Km. The Q is practical and easy to park, and can be configured with a single front seat and two rear seats or a single driver's seat and a cargo area at the rear.

The third concept, the Suzuki Swift EV Hybrid is a compact electric vehicle backed by a engine-driven generator which should be able to cover around 20 to 30 Km on just battery power. What could make the Swift EV Hybrid more attractive when compared to electric vehicles which depend entirely on battery power is that fact that in this case the battery is smaller, which means it weights less, it costs less and takes less time to recharge.
