Unveiled at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show, the Subaru Advanced Tourer Concept focuses on "Enjoyment and Peace of Mind" and promises "superior driving performance and utility".

Developed as a new generation sports wagon for the C segment, the Subaru ATC features an innovative exterior design combined with the automaker’s next generation Power Unit System. This system combines a 1.6 liter Horizontally-Opposed direct fuel injection turbo engine with a continuously variable Lineartronic transmission and Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive.
The all-wheel-drive system is backed by an electric motor that links to a Lithium-ion battery, although at this point we still don’t know the exact output figures or what this car is capable of in terms of performance.
The Subaru Advanced Tourer Concept interior was designed based on the automaker’s latest human-centered philosophy, which means all passenger will be guaranteed a safe and pleasant ride. The car’s roof is made of glass, the various materials that were employed include wood and metal, and the steering wheel integrates a large monitor that provides access to maps, TV and Internet services.
