It looks like the German automaker has greenlit a successor for the Smart Crossblade, as a series of design drawings that show the new generation two-door roadster have started to leak online.
Just like the initial concept which was first seen at the Geneva Motor Show back in 2001, the upcoming Smart Crossblade will also be missing its roof and windscreen, but unlike the original, the new version will be featuring safety bars instead of doors.
The Smart Crossblade will also borrow Smart’s Tridion Safety Cell, which will help maintain the car rigid, while the smaller size windscreen will channel the air over the occupant’s head.
Technical details are non existent at this point, and as far as public debut the Smart Crossblade is likely to be unveiled at this year’s Geneva Motor Show.
