SEAT Ibiza FR 2.0 TDI CR

The Spanish automaker is introducing the SEAT Ibiza FR 2.0 TDI CR, the most powerful car in its segment, packing 143 HP (105 kW) thanks to the new 2.0 TDI engine with common railtechnology and DPF particulate filter.

The SEAT Ibiza FR 2.0 TDI CR has lowered CO2 emissions by 20% (119 g/Km) when compared to the previous generation FR that was fitted with the 130 HP 1.9 TDI engine and additionally the company is offering a special driving course free of charge to all Ibiza FR, CUPRA and Bocanegra buyers.

Performance figures for the SEAT Ibiza FR 2.0 TDI CR indicate that a top speed of 210 Km/h can be reached and sprinting from 0 to 100 Km/h takes 8.2 seconds. As far as fuel consumption the SEAT Ibiza FR 2.0 TDI CR needs only 4.6-litres per 100 Km and the sporty hatch complies with the Euro 5 emission standards.

The SEAT Ibiza FR has extended its engine line-up with the arrival ofthe 143 hp (105 kW) 2.0 TDI variant equipped with common railtechnology and DPF particulate filter, making the Ibiza the first VWGroup model to mount the 2.0 TDI engine on this platform, which by theway is the most powerful Diesel in its segment.

With thesecredentials the new Ibiza FR TDI is a full-fledged sporty vehicle, butat the same time committed to environmental sustainability. Itsemissions level of 119 g/km is unique on a car of this nature, and is aconsiderable reduction by 20%

compared to the previous FR versionequipped with the 130 hp 1.9 TDI engine. Thanks to this low figure,buyers in Spain are exempt from paying registration tax.

Inaddition, SEAT is offering a special driving course at no extra cost toall buyers of the sportiest Ibiza versions, the FR, CUPRA andBocanegra. The aim of the course is to give drivers hands on experienceof these three versions' dynamic qualities and provide them withgreater confidence and safety at the wheel.

Brilliant performance

Fittedwith the new 2.0 TDI CR engine, the new Ibiza FR delivers performancelevels to match its distinctly sporty set-up. Top speed is 210 km/h, 0to 100 km/h acceleration is 8.2 seconds and in-gear acceleration isequally swift. But these figures do not imply greater consumption; onthe contrary, the new Ibiza FR registers an average figure of only 4.6litres for every 100 km, and naturally fully complies with EU-5emissions legislation.

Careful work has been done to the newIbiza FR TDI chassis and suspension ratings in order to tap its powerpotential, resulting in effective performance to match the model’ssporty philosophy. Much of the merit goes to the electronic XDS system,which works as a self-blocking mechanism to provide constant tractioncapacity.

Exclusive exterior styling

Thesame as with the petrol version, the new SEAT Ibiza FR will beavailable in the SC and five-door body styling, and in both choices itsdesign features set it apart from the rest of the range. The new FRversion features specific bumpers, front honeycomb grilles, with achrome frame surrounding the one in the centre, the characteristicArrow Design, silver colour door mirrors, 215/40 tyres on specific 17inch wheel rims, and a twin lateral tailpipe.

The interior alsoconveys the car’s racing nature with shiny black inserts on certaindashboard elements such as the instrument panel binnacle hood or theventilation nozzle bezels. Other contributing elements to its sportylooks are a specific instrument display that carries the FR logo, thesporty steering wheel design and the seat design, whose contours andstitched upholstery are different than on the rest of the range andsport the FR logo on the backrests of the front seats.

Availablethroughout the official SEAT sales network, the new Ibiza FR TDIsignals a considerable evolution in terms of performance, noise levelsand driving comfort compared to the previous Ibiza FR equipped with the130 hp 1.9 TDI pump injector engine.

Fully equipped and available in Bocanegra trim

Attractive optional equipment line-up

The FR version features an attractive list of optional elements that completes the list of standard equipment.

SEAT’snew vehicle can come equipped with the Carbono package, which enhancesthe exclusiveness of the interior with an instrument panel binnaclehood, steering wheel spokes and radio casing with a carbon fibre finish.

Aninteresting optional comfort element on the Ibiza FR is the storagepackage, which provides drawers beneath the front seats, a frontarmrest and storage nets in the boot.

There is also a technicalpackage, which includes parking sensor, rain sensing wipers, ComingHome and anti-dazzle rear-view mirror, and the Winter package, withheated wiper nozzles and headlight wipers.

Another noveltyrecently introduced on the Ibiza range is the possibility of addingleather upholstery to the sporty seats, an optional element that is notonly available on the Spanish brand’s two sportiest models, but on theStyle and Sport trims as well.

Furthermore, the Ibiza FR isavailable with the new adaptor for the new generation of portable TomTom navigators, which joins the current adaptor to plug in the Tom TomOne V4 navigator.

Finally, the new Ibiza FR is equipped with215/40 tyres on 17 inch Cosmos Silver ‘Aera’ alloy rims as standard,and optionally in Titanium colour.
