Saab Phoenix Concept Video

The first presentation video for the Saab Phoenix has been published on the Swedish automaker's YouTube channel, and if you are not sure how to interpret some of its design elements then you'll have Jason Castriota, its creator, offer detailed information on what this concept is all about.

With a 2+2 interior configuration the Saab Phoenix Concept has a drag coefficient of 0.25, comes with top-hinged doors for easy access, and power provided by a 1.6-litre petrol engine mated with a rear drive electric motor for a total system output of 234 HP (172 kW).

Fuel efficiency figures indicate that the Saab Phoenix is able to return 56.5 mpg (5-litres per 100 Km), with CO2 emissions of 119 gram per Km, while in terms of performance the concept can sprint from 0 to 100 Km/h in 5.9 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 250 Km/h.

As the video mentions, the Saab Phoenix Concept also marks the introduction of the IQon system, 'the first true application system available in an automobile' which allows the driver to have full command of all the car's functions.
