Autocar has tested the hardcore, limited edition Lexus LFA Nurburgring, and what better place to do that other than the circuit which inspired its name.
As it has been mentioned many times here before, the Lexus LFA Nurburgring edition packs 10 more horses than the standard LFA from its 4.8-litre V10, but as Autocar points out, increased power is not what this car is all about. They say this limited run version is something close to what Porsche would do if they decided to create the LFA RS.
Their claim is backed by the fact that the Lexus LFA Nurburgring has a stiffer suspension, a quicker shifting gearbox, numerous aerodynamic improvements in order to generate additional downforce, plus its center of gravity is now substantially lower.
The LFA Nurburgring also weights with aorund 100 Kg less than the regular version while its wheels, which are now in double spoke design, are wrapped in tires that are made from a track based compound.
What does it feel like driving the Lexus LFA Nurburgring and how fast is it? well we already know that the Japanese automaker has lapped the Nurburgring in 7:14.64 with it, but we’ll be back soon with Autocar’s second part of this review to see what they came up with on the famous German track.
