Another premium compact SUV recently tested by Autocar apart from the Audi Q3 is the new 3-door version Range Rover Evoque.
The actual trim reviewed by Autocar was the SD Prestige Coupe which starts at 39,990 GBP and produces 187 bhp at 3,500 rpm and 310 lb-ft of torque at 1,750 rpm from a 4.cylinder, 2179cc turbodiesel engine. This engine uses a six-speed automatic in order to get the 1,670 Kg Evoque Coupe moving, and when it comes to performance, the car can go from nought to 60 mph in 8.5 seconds and hit a top speed of 121 mph.
In the fuel consumption department the Range Rover Evoque does pretty well as it returns 44.1 UK mpgs while emitting 169 grammes of CO2 per Km.
Overall the Range Rover Evoque Coupe represents a decent compromise between an SUV and a coupe, and while its rear visibility is not that great, the car does offer a decent amount of luggage space and rear passenger space. The level of practicality is below what conventional SUV’s offer, but the Evoque Coupe’s strong points are its styling and its well specced interior.
