The police officers from the NYC Police Department are now driving the all-new Smart ForTwo. 250 units were ordered and the first 100 examples are already in service.
These cars are joining the 9,000-vehicle fleet used by the police in New York and are perfect for the busy city. As you already imagined, the cars have received the special police suit with white and blue livery.
There are also blue revolving lamp mounted on the roof and the police radio equipment. Under the hood of these ForTwos is the turbocharged, three-cylinder 0.9-liter engine producing 89 horsepower and 00 pound-feet of torque.
“The smart is spacious and agile and makes my job much easier. Many people say that the little patrol cars are really cute, too”, said Officer Ralph Jefferson.
