Nissan has officially announced that they are planning a production version of the Kicks Concept, the prototype that was first seen at the 2014 Sao Paulo Motor Show. The car is set to go on sale in Latin America later this year and will go beyond the obvious and will feature a strong design statement as well the performance that our customers crave.

For now, Nissan officials haven’t offer many details about the Kicks model but noted that the crossover’s design and development is being completed by Nissan Design America, Nissan Design America Rio and Nissan’s Global Design Center in Japan which is a big thing.

According to the same sources, the production model will be built at the Resende Industrial Complex in Brazil. As you can imagine, the new Nissan Kicks will be built alongside the March and Versa.

For now we don’t know if the Kicks will be offered in the United States but the Japanese car manufacturer says the model will go globally.

"Nissan invented the first crossover in 2003, with the Murano. Since then, we’ve established our global crossover leadership with vehicles like Juke, Qashqai and X-Trail – which have been great successes. The Kicks will bring Nissan´s unique crossover expertise to more regions", said Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn.
