BMW owned, British mark MINI is going to present a sportier version of the Countryman crossover at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show next week, a vehicle which will adopt the John Copper Works moniker due to its aggressive styling and 1.6-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine capable of developing 218 PS ans 280 Nm (207 lb-ft) of torque.
Thanks to this engine that can even produce 300 Nm of torque with the overboost function, the MINI  Countryman John Cooper Works, which by the way features the ALL4 all-wheel-drive system and a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard, can sprint from 0 to 62 mph in 7.0 seconds flat and is able of reaching a top speed of 140 mph (225 Km/h).
If the car is equipped with the optional 6-speed automatic transmission, the top speed figure decreases to 139 mph (223 Km/h).
Fuel economy figures indicate that the MINI Countryman JCW will return 39.2 mpg (combined UK Rating) / 7.2-litres per 100 Km, and emit 167 grams of CO2 per Km if we are talking about the manual model, while the automatic equipped version is slightly less efficient as it returns 35.3 mpg (UK rating) / 8.0-litres per 100 Km with CO2 levels of 187 grams per Km.
Apart from the new body kit, the MINI Countryman John Cooper Works features a lowered suspension, a sports tuned exhaust system, more potent brakes, unique 18 inch alloy wheels and a spiced up interior.
The vehicle will go on sale this fall, but pricing has not been conformed yet.
