Mercedes unveiled today a teaser video of its new GLE63 AMG Coupe, the sporty SUV set to rival the BMW X6. In AMG version, the GLE Coupe will target the BMW X6 M, a succesful version of the bavarian car.
The official debut will take place during next week Detroit Motor Show, together with the standard version of the GLE Coupe and together with the intermediate range of the car, the AMG Sport division, created to rival with BMW M Performance.
Exterior
The short trailer reveals some important design cues of the performance version, but nothing spectacular. As we would have guessed, the SUV comes with larger air intakes, with a redesigned front spoiler, four tailpipes and big side sills.
Engine
Under the hood we could see a 4.0 liter V8 engine, newly developed in Affalterbach, Germany. It will replace the old 5.5 liter V8 unit and be capable of producing 570 hp, same as its BMW rival.
