A couple of weeks ago we have announced you that Mercedes-Benz is planning a pickup truck. At that time, we knew that the German car manufacturer will sell the car in Australia, Europe, Latin America and South Africa. Now, according to our colleagues from Automotive News, Mercedes-Benz could also sell it’s pickup truck in the United States.

According to Mercedes-Benz USA CEO Steve Cannon, the US-spec will be positioned as a luxury truck instead of a commercial vehicle. For now, the company is still running the numbers, but Cannon is pretty sure that Mercedes-Benz USA will be able to sell about 10,000 units a year.

He also said that a decision will be made by the end of the year in order to ensure there is enough time to homologate the car to the U.S. standards.
