French automaker Renault has unveiled its fastest ever road-going model, the limited edition Megane Renaultsport 265 Trophy ahead of its official debut scheduled for next week a the World Series by Renault, Nurburgring meeting in Germany.
Developed to taken on competitors like the Golf and the Scirocco R, the Megane Renaultsport 265 Trophy produces 15 extra horsepower than the standard 250 HP model (hence the name) and an extra 20 Nm of torque for a total of 360 Nm.
According to the automaker, the power to weight ratio on the Megane Renaultsport 265 Trophy is 191 HP per tonne, but you’ll understand better what that means by knowing that this hot hatch sprints from 0 to 62 mph in 6 seconds flat and can also reach a top speed of 158 mph (up from 6.1 seconds and 156 mph).
The Megane Renaultsport 265 Trophy will be limited to 500 exemplars, out of which 50 will be heading to the UK, and some of the special features on this car include the Cup chassis, Recaro seats with yellow seat-belts, the 19 inch Speedline alloys wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza RE050A tyres and the Liquid Yellow metallic paint.
This super hot hatch also comes with F1-style front blade and doors, LED daytime running lights, on-board performance tracking and a special edition plaque.
The Megane Renaultsport 265 Trophy price start at 27,820 GBP in the UK or at 35,500 Euro in France. Order books will open in June 20th.
