Jay Leno has recently met with Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO
of Lamborghini Automobili in order to discuss about the company’s latest
hypercar, the Aventador LP700-4.
As Winkelmann explains,
everything about the Aventador is new, redesigned from scratch, with all
of its elements oriented towards performance. At the heart of the
Aventador sits a new 6.5-litre V12 that produces 700 horses via a
7-speed transmission, with everything being wrapped up in a carbon fiber
monocoque which enables the car to have the heights power to weight
ratio in its class.
The Lamborghini Aventador, which was by the
way named after the bravest ever fighting bull, is also equipped with a
push-rod suspension, and the results as easily noticeable and nothing
short of impressive. The Italian hypercar can sprint from 0 to 62 mph in
just 2.9 seconds, can reach 124 mph in less than 9 seconds and its top
speed is 217 mph.
The video also contains a section in which
Maurizio Reggiani, Director of Research and Development at Lamborghini
talks about the new materials and the new technology that was developed
especially for this new model, while in the last minutes from the
footage we have Jay Leno driving the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4.
