After it surprised everyone with the propulsion system of its future Ioniq concept, Hyundai returns with some more images of the prototype. The car will be launched in South Korea this month, with other global markets following this year.

As we previously said, the Ioniq concept is the first-ever car to offer a choice of three efficient and ultra-low emission powertrain options in one body type. The alternative-fuel compact vehicle is already available for pre-order in selected markets.

The exterior of the Ioniq features an aerodynamic design with coupe-like silhouette, minimizing wind resistance by assisting the efficient management of airflow. At the front of the car, familiar Hyundai design themes are evident: the signature hexagonal grille, striking blue and white colors that blend with the headlights.

The design theme continues inside where its futuristic perspective draws on the car’s hybrid credentials. The efficient use of interior space provides a sleek and light feel. The surfaces make use of eco-friendly materials to convey a futuristic yet warm cabin ambience.

The Ioniq is due to be shown at the Geneva International Motor Show and the New York Auto Show in March 2016 after its world premiere in Korea later this month.
