Hyundai has unveiled the Hyundai Elantra Coupe at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show today, a version which intends to attract even more buyers to the Elantra line-up.
The 2013 Elantra Coupe is a continuation of the ‘fluidic design language’ and some of its highlights include a 1.8-litre ‘Nu’ generation Dual Continuously Variable Valve Timing (D-CVVT) engine, in-house developed 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions, and standard features such as VSM, ESC, TCS, ABS with Brake Assist and EBD.
The Hyundai Elantra Coupe produces 148 HP and 128 lb-ft of torque (more than the Civic but less than the Kia Forte Koup 2.0), returns 40 mpg (11 percent more than the Civic), and its bigger dimensions make it more comfortable than its Honda rival.
The 2013 Hyundai Elantra Coupe also comes with a 7-inch touch-screen part of the navigation system, a rear-view camera, iPod and USB connectivity, Bluetooth hands-free and proximity-key entry with electronic push-button start.
The exact fuel consumption figures for each transmission choice are 29 mpg city and 40 mpg highway for the 6-speed manual and 28 mpg city and 39 mph highway for the 6-speed automatic.
Pricing for the Elantra Coupe was not announced yet.
