Honda has officially unveiled the all-new Civic Type R at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. More than that, the Japanese car manufacturer has also published a video with their new car on the Nurburgring racing circuit.

Lap Time

According to Honda, the new Civic Type R managed to take down the record for the front-wheel drive cars with 7 minutes and 50.63 seconds around the Nordschleife. As a result, the Renault Megane RS 275 Trophy-R is out of the league.

Powertrain

Under the hood of the new Honda Civic Type R is a 2.0 liter petrol engine that can deliver 310 horsepower and 400 Nm peak of torque. The resources are sent to the ground via a six speed manual gearbox. As a result, the car will do the run from stand still to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 5.7 seconds, while the top speed is clocked at 270 km/h (167 mph).
