According to a recent report published by our French colleagues from Caradisiac, the upcoming performance version of the Renault Megane RS will have the RS275R moniker. As you already know, the French sports car will be officially revealed on June 16.

A couple of weeks ago Renault started to tease the new #UNDER8 project. As you can imagine, the new car refers to a more focused version of the Renault Megane RS which was developed to take back the Nurburgring FWD crown from the Seat Leon Cupra 280.

Under these conditions, the car will feature the same 4 cylinder 2.0 liter turbocharged engine rated at 275 horsepower. We think that these 10 HP achievements are done by the already confirmed Akrapovic exhaust system. In addition, we could see some weight saving tips like plastic rear windows, fewer airbags and less soundproofing.

All these changes are rumored to provide the upcoming Renault Megane RS275R with a Nurburgring lap time of 7 minutes and 45 seconds, making it quicker than the Seat Leon 280’s 7 minutes and 58.4 seconds.
