The Blue Oval premiered the Ford Fiesta ST Concept today at the 2011 IAA Frankfurt Motor Show. The high-performance Fiesta points to a future production model, with everything on the car already looking production ready.
With the Ford Fiesta ST the automaker wants to continue the Fiesta’s 35 year history of small but powerful cars, with power provided in this case by a 1.6-litre turbocharged EcoBoost engine capable of outputting 180 PS and 240 Nm of torque.
This engine’s output will be reflected at the exterior through a series of muscular looking features, plus the car will be fitted with a dynamic sport chassis, and a tuned suspension geometry that will ensure  dynamic and competent handling.
The Ford Fiesta ST Concept accelerates from 0 to 100 Km/h (0 to 62 mph) in less than 7 seconds and can hit a top speed of 220 Km/h. Power is put to the ground via a 6-speed manual gearbox, and CO2 emissions are lower than 140 grammes per Km.
The Ford Fiesta ST Concept’s bald looking exterior inspired from Fiesta RS WRC includes elements such as a trapezoidal grille with a honeycomb mesh design and a dramatic rear diffuser which envelopes the two exhaust pipes.
The car is painted in Molten Orange, with the heme being continued at the interior where the ST concept is fitted with Recaro sports seats.
