Today Volkswagen has presented the first official photos of the brand new 2013 Golf Mk7.
The German model has an evolutionary design that replaces the soft lines with sharper ones. As we say it before, the exterior design isn’t groundbreaking. We see a redesigned front fascia, new headlamps and tail lights that incorporates LED technology.
The cabin also looks familiar, only notable change being the center console, which is more driver-oriented. Another notable change is the flat-bottom steering wheel, metallic accents and gloss black trim.
The new 2013 Volkswagen Golf Mk7 uses the new MQB platform shared with other model such as Audi A3 and Seat Leon. The 2013 Golf will be available with several new engines including the EA211 turbocharged 1.4-litre four-cylinder petrol unit with cylinder deactivation that produces 138hp (140PS).
The europeans can choose between the 1.2 and 1.4 petrol engines, with power ranging from 85 to 150 hp. The launch diesel engines are a 1.6-litre unit with 105 hp, which returns 3.8 lt/100 km and a 2.0-litre 150hp unit that returns 4.1 lt/100 km. in the future, VW inttends to offer a Golf Bluemotion with a consumption of just 3.2 liter/100 km and emissions of 85 g/km.
Starting this autumn, all Golfs version will be mated to a six speed manual, or a six or seven speed DSG. Along those, the public will benefit from the start and stop function, offered in standard.
