Fiat Viaggio: Beijing 2012

Fiat has unveiled the 2013 Viaggio at the Auto China 2012 in Beijing, a mid-size sedan which uses the automaker's CUSW (Compact US Wide) architecture and is basically the rebadged version Dodge Dart.

Inspired by Italian design the Viaggio uses "modern-day fashion elements with a note of lasting classics". Its styling was created at the Fiat Group's Style Centre in Turin, and some of the striking features include the contemporary Fiat 'face', the the bold looking headlamps and the LED enhanced taillights.

If we are to compare it with the Dart, the Viaggio also features different bumpers and alloys, while its 'driver centric' interior uses premium quality materials and has a 'floating island bezel' which combines the cluster and centre stack.

The 2013 Fiat Viaggio measures 4,679 mm in length, 1,850 mm in overall width and rides on a 2,708 mm long wheelbase, and its assembly will take place at the new GAC Fiat production plant in Changsha, in the Hunan province.

In terms of propulsion the Viaggio will be offered with a 1.4-litre T-Jet engine that will produce either 120 PS or 150 PS via a 5-speed manual or a dual clutch transmission.

Dealership arrival on the Chinese market is scheduled for the third quarter of 2012.
