After they saw the potential of the little 500, Fiat officials decided to expand its range to further benefit from this large public appeal. After we saw the Fiat 500L and the Fiat 500 Crosstrek, we will be ready to welcome the new Fiat 500X.
It is the crossover version of the Italian Mini, set to compete in the B-segment SUV market. It is also Fiat`s premiere for this year Paris Motor Show. The first teaser image of the crossover reveals the higher roofline, the higher road clearance and some plastic cladding.
Other notable changes are kept secret until now. The new design is not a surprise, as Fiat showed a similar teaser image two years ago, during the Fiat 500L press launch event. The new Fiat 500X will use MultiAir and Multijet II diesel engines, used by the Jeep Renegade.
In fact, the two cars use the same platform. This means same engines and the introduction of a nine-speed automatic transmission. The competition will be tough with cars like Honda HR-V, Nissan Juke, Renault Captur and Peugeot 2008.
