Citreon press release :

New features are available on the C4 Picasso and Grand C4 Picasso MPVs and the Berlingo ludospace.
On the C4 Picasso and Grand C4 Picasso, Intelligent Traction Control is now mounted standard on all engines mated with a manual gearbox.
On the Berlingo, Grip Control, which manages skidding of the driving wheels on a variety of surfaces, is available as an option on the XTR trims with diesel HDi engines. Grip Control technology enhances the Berlingo’s “go anywhere” personality.
The Berlingo now comes with an HDi 92 engine with a diesel particulate filter system. This new offering reduces fuel consumption to 5.3 l/100 km over a combined cycle and limits CO2 emissions to 140 g/km.

C4 PICASSO: INTELLIGENT TRACTION CONTROL AVAILABLE ON MANY VERSIONS
After the C5, Intelligent Traction Control is being offered on the C4 Picasso and Grand C4 Picasso on all engines mated to a manual gearbox. This safety feature comes at no extra charge to the customer. The system considerably improves traction on snow- and ice-covered roads. By pushing back the limits of traditional anti-skid systems, Intelligent Traction Control enables the vehicle to keep moving forward on slippery surfaces in most driving conditions. Intelligent Traction Control makes driving easier and safer.

GRIP CONTROL ON THE BERLINGO: AT EASE ON ALL SURFACES
The Berlingo offers Grip Control, a new generation of the advanced anti-skid system, as an option, perfectly suited to the model’s “go anywhere” personality. On the C5 and C4 Picasso, the system controls and adjusts skidding of the driving wheels on snow- and icecovered roads. This feature is sufficient and well suited to the uses and expectations of owners of these models. The
Berlingo’s more “rough and ready” positioning makes it the ideal choice for a system that manages skidding on various road and off-road surfaces.

Grip Control is available as an option on the HDi 92 XTR and HDi 110 DPFS XTR versions, which already feature suspension systems raised by 10 mm and a protective plate under the engine. In addition to the Grip Control function, these versions include ESP and Michelin® Latitude Tour M+S 205/65 R 15 tyres, which offer the best compromise for adjusting to all surfaces, including snow, where they can replace snow tyres. This option is priced at €600 incl. VAT.

Grip Control is also available on the HDi 75 and HDi 92 light commercial versions.
Grip Control is an advanced anti-skid system, incorporated into the ESP calculator. It manages skidding of the front driving wheels and has five modes enabling the vehicle to adjust to the surface. The driver selects the mode using the mode selector dial on the dashboard.
Standard mode
This is the mode for everyday on-road driving. It allows limited skidding of the driving wheels and behaves like a traditional ASR system.
Snow mode
Similar to Intelligent Traction Control feature on the C5 and C4 Picasso, this mode assists the vehicle to pull away and cruise on snow-covered roads by optimising skidding of the driving wheels, or by applying differentiated management to each driving wheel. Unlike the C5 and C4 Picasso, this mode deactivates automatically at 50 km/h.
All road mode
This is the mode for muddy road surfaces, dirt roads and wet grass. It allows one of the two driving wheels to skid strongly for traction and lets the other wheel develop the most engine torque possible. In this configuration, the whole of available torque can be delivered to one of the two driving wheels, which is impossible with limited slip differential systems. Skidding is then optimised to enable the car to move forward as easily as possible. This mode deactivates automatically at 80 km/h.
Sand mode
In this configuration, the system allows the two driving wheels to skid slightly to the same extent, to enable the vehicle to drive as easily as possible and reduce the risk of getting stuck. This mode functions up to a speed of 120 km/h.
ESP off mode
The ESP off mode deactivates all the driving aids managed by the ESP calculator, namely the ESP and anti-skid systems. As on other Citroën models, the system reconnects automatically at 50 km/h.

AN HDi 92 DPFS ENGINE ON THE BERLINGO: FUEL ECONOMY AND LOWER CO2 EMISSIONS
The particulate filter on the HDi 92 engine of the new Berlingo goes comes with a few new developments enabling it to deliver much better results in terms of fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. This progress has been achieved by optimised aerodynamic performance and the use of a more fluid engine oil. Consumption is 5.3 litres per 100 km on a combined cycle. CO2 emissions have fallen to 140 g/km. This does not alter other performance values (acceleration and pick-up).
This new offer is available on the French market, on the 5-seater versions of the Multispace, XTR and

Multispace
Pack trims and on the Collection special series. Prices range from €18,850 on the Multispace version to
€21,700 for the Multispace Pack version.
