Citroen C-Elysee and C4 L

Citroen is taking new steps towards consolidating its presence as a global brand. That is why they introduced two new models for the C segment, the biggest automotive market in the world, which held more than 20 million registrations in 2011.

These new models are the Citroen C-Elysee and the C4 L, two compact saloons with highly specific personalities that "respect the codes of their target segments".

Te Citroen C-Elysee which will be built in Spain, is expected to appeal to those looking for a car that is both attractive and accessible, and will be sold in countries like  Turkey, Spain, Central Europe and Algeria before the end of 2012.

Its wheelbase measures 2.65 m in length while its boot can accommodate 506-litres worth of luggage. Comfort equipment will include air conditioning, MP3 stereo and a Bluetooth hand-free kit, while power will be provided by a new generation VTi 97bhp petrol engine.

As for the Citroen C4 L, this is a lounge version of the C4 hatchback, which represents the first model styled by the brand's design studio in Shanghai.

If compared to the C-Elyse, the C4 L is more luxurious, and some of its highlights include a comfortable suspension, a lounge-like rear compartment with wraparound seats, backrests inclined at 29 degrees, and technology such as hand-free access and start, touch-screen GPS, a rear parking camera, heated windscreen, air ioniser, etc.

Based on the market, the Citroen C4 L will be offered with either the THP 155/170 petrol engine co-developed with the BMW Group, or the VTi 135 petrol unit. These engines can be paired with a new automatic and sequential 6-speed gearbox.

The C4 L will be made in each of the zones were it will be sold, meaning Wuhan, China by the end of 2012 and Kaluga, Russia in the first half of 2013.
