GM has revealed two oddly named coupe concepts in Detroit today : the ‘code 130R’ and the ‘tru 140S’ which are aimed at inspiring a new generation of buyers (customers approaching 30, a segment which represents 40 percent of today’s potential car-buying public).
General Motors North America President Mark Reuss said that "Chevrolet has always stood for making the aspirational attainable for all generations" "These two concepts interpret that vision for a new generation. We’re
seeking out our newest customers’ opinions, listening to their advice,
and engaging them in new ways."
The Chevrolet Code 130R is a red 4-seat coupe with a simple upright profile which features heritage performance-inspired styling and rear-wheel drive. Its front section looks aggressive while the engine  from under the hood is a 1.4-litre Turbo Ecotec with eAssist technology which "takes automotive electrification to the next level and balances turbocharged performance with fuel economy".
This engine delivers 150 HP (110 kW) and 148 lb-ft (200 Nm of torque) and can be paired with a 6-speed automatic or an optional 6-speed manual.
The second concept, the Chevrolet Tru 140S is a front-wheel-drive vehicle that uses the same engine mentioned above, but in this case we are talking about an ‘affordable exotic’ designed as a 3-door hatchback.
The 140S is based on the same platform as the Chevrolet Cruze and Volt and through this concept, designers wanted to demonstrate various technologies which are typically found on more expensive cars. These include direct injection and a starter-based stop-start technology.
The 1.4L Turbo Ecotec engine found in these concepts can return 40 mpg and if these vehicles will spawn production deviates, then their prices could hover around the 20,000 USD mark.
