The American journalists from automotive magazine Road and Track have compared three of the fastest accelerating models on the planet. These are the Bugatti Veyron, the Nissan GTR and the Porsche 911 Turbo S, all of which are part of the select 'two second club' due to their 0 to 60 mph sprint times that brake the 3 seconds barrier.

This comparison will not tell you which looks better, which handles better or which should you take home, but it does show each of the cars 0 to 60, 100 and 160 mph acceleration times and standing quarter mile time and speed.

Starting with the 2012 Nissan GTR Premium, the Japanese automaker's most capable ever street car goes from 0 to 60 in 2.94 seconds, from 0 to 100 mph in 7.3 seconds, from 0 to 160 mph in 22 seconds, while the quarter mile is covered in 11.2 seconds at a speed of 123.4 mph.

The 2011 Porsche 911 Turbo S is the second quickest from the three and it takes 2.84 seconds to reach 60 mph, 6.7 seconds to hit 100 mph and 18.7 seconds to get to 160 mph. Its 1/4 mile time is 10.9 seconds at a speed of 128 mph.

As for the mighty 2012 Bugatti Veyron, the version shown here is the Super Sport which costs 2.5 million USD, and rockets from nought to 60 mph in 2.5 seconds. The Veyron is also capable of going from 0 to 100 mph in 4.9 seconds, from 0 to 160 mph in 12.2 seconds and covering the quarter mile in 9.9 seconds at 145.8 mph

Interestingly enough the GTR is the fastest between the three when accelerating from 0 to 45 mph.
