The gents from Automobile Magazine reports that the Molsheim-based automaker is working on a new Veyron.
According to them, the model will be named Veyron Super and it will debut next year at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Essentially we are talking about an uber-Super Sport edition which will feature additional carbon fiber elements for weight reduction.
Under the hood the new Bugatti Veyron Super will come with an upgraded 8.0 liter engine or with a 9.6 liter unit that develops an astonishing 1.600 hp (1.177 kW). Thanks to this figure, the hipercar from Molsheim will accelerate from stand still to 62 mph in just 1.8 second and will hit a top speed of 463 km/h (288 mph).
If you think that these numbers sound unbelievable, you'll have to think again because the new Veyron Super has only 1.600 kg (3527 lb), which means that it is 249 kg (550 lb) lighter than the SuperSport. This means the car would have a power-to-weight ration of one-to-one.
The Veyron Super could cost in excess of $2.5 (€1.9 / £1.5) million.
