BMW has expanded the engine option for the all-new X1 crossover. The smallest X member will now be available with three different engines.

On the petrol side we have the 1.5 liter, three cylinder unit that can deliver 136 horsepower and 220 Nm peak of torque. The engine will be found on the sDrive 18i and will enable the car to run from stand still to 100 km/h in 9.7 seconds. The fuel consumption announced by BMW will be clocked between 5.1 and 5.6 liters per 100 kilometers.

The second engine will be the 1.5 liter, three cylinder diesel one. It has 116 horsepower and 270 Nm peak of torque. As a result, the car can consume just 3.9 liters per 100 kilometers.

Last, but not least is the xDrive 18d which will feature the 2.0 liter four cylinder engine that offers 150 horsepower. It will be available with the six speed manual gearbox or with the eight speed automatic transmission. The car is able to run from not to 100 km/h in 9.2 seconds, while the top speed is clocked at 204 km/h. Average fuel consumption stands at 4.7 – 4.9 liters per 100 kilometers.
