BMW is going to showcase a new M Performance power kit at this year’s Paris Motor Show, created only for the 2.0 liter diesel versions of the 1, 3 and 5 Series.

Thanks to a reprogrammed ECU and a larger charge air cooler boost, the 2.0 liter engine, code named N47, increases it’s standard performance from 184 to 200 horsepower. The maximum torque peaks at 420 Nm, much more than the standard 380 Nm.

This upgrade enables the 120d, 320d and 520d versions to accelerate from 0-100 km/h up to one second faster than the standard models. Even in this conditions the cars keep the same fuel consumption and CO2 emission figures as the regular versions in the EU test cycle.

Along with the new M Performance power kit, there will also be available a list of M accessories for the current 3-door 1 Series and for the 3-Series Touring. We are talking about retrofit components in the areas of drive, suspension, aerodynamics and cockpit. All of them will go on sale later this fall.

On the outside, available accesories are exterior mirror caps in carbon finish, a selection of wheels, diffuser inserts for the rear apron and side sill foliations with M Performance inscription.
