BMW pays tribute to it’s V12 history with a special edition of the current 7 Series. In 1987, BMW was the first manufacturer to offer a V12 on a premium saloon, a real act of courage at that time.

Today, the Germans are honoring the memory of the twelve cylinder engine with a special edition, available exclusively in the United States. It is named “V12 25 Years Edition” and it’s based on the current 760Li version.

Across the Ocean there will be only 15 units produced, offered to customers on a special order basis. Delivery date was fixed for the spring of 2013, and the price tag is 159,695$.

The special edition comes with a BMW Individual body-paint, Citrine Black, and rides on bespoke 20 inch alloy wheels.

For the interior, the designers opted for fully trimmed Merino leather upholstery, with black accents. On the headrests, i-Drive controllers and door sills, BMW badged the “V12 Years Edition” logo. BMW Individual Piano Black wood can be found on the dashboard, doors and steering wheel, and Alcantara headliner in champagne color. The entertainment area includes now rear seat LCD screens and special controllers.

Under the hood we have the same 6.0 liter Twin Turbo V12, capable of doing 100 km/h in almost 4.5 seconds, thanks to its 535 hp.
