BMW has officially unveiled the 1-Series sedan during the 2016 Guangzhou Auto Show. As you may have read, the model was specially developed for the Chinese market and it was developed on the brand’s global platform.

According to BMW, the model was designed to attract young customers.

"The all-new BMW 1 Series Sedan is the youngest BMW in the product portfolio. And we have strong confidence in this exclusive model as it is born ‘In the Right Time, At the Right Place, and For the Right People’. Premium compact cars are the fastest growing segment — this is ‘the Right Time’. Young generation from China is becoming the mainstream consumers of premium cars — this means ‘the Right Place’, developing and tailor-made a product exclusively according to Chinese young customers’ requirement — this refers to ‘the Right People'", said Jochen Goller, BMW Brilliance automotive Ltd Senior V of Sales and Marketing.

On the design side, the new BMW 1-Series sedan features the same styling as the hatchback. The headlights features LED and the same technology is also used at the taillights. Inside the cabin, the BMW 1-Series sedan will come with the iDrive system, a full-color head-up display and lots of optional equipment.

Under the hood, the BMW 1-Series sedan will come with lots of petrol and diesel engines of 1,5 and 2,0 liters. For now, the BMW 1-Series sedan hasn't got the price.
