Steve Sutcliffe had the chance of driving the most recent Bentley model, launched this fall, during Paris Motor Show. It is the new Bentley Mulsanne Speed, the most powerful Mulsanne ever built and the only limousine that must be driven by its owner. Autocar tries to underline that the Mulsanne Speed is that limousine that can also be a drivers car.

The Mulsanne Speed is tailored for the driver, with 537 hp 1,100 Nm (811 lb.ft) and selectable sports suspension and steering on demand. The reengineered powertrain, featuring Bentley’s 6.7 litre twin-turbo V8, propels the Mulsanne Speed from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.9 seconds and on to a top speed of 190 mph (305 km/h).

In modern Bentley tradition, the additional performance is matched by markedly improved efficiency; a 13% gain means a range extended by 50 miles (80 km).
