Audi is ready to introduce the new RS3 Sportback on the UK market. The premium hot-hatch is one of the most powerful hatchbacks on the market, featuring a 367 hp output, delivered from the 2.5-litre TFSI and complemented by a peak torque of 465 Nm (343.0 lb-ft), available from 1,625 rpm to 5,550 rpm.

With a power-to-weight ratio of 241 hp per ton, achieved by trimming an additional 55kg compared with the previous RS3 Sportback, the latest car needs just 4.3 seconds to hit 62 mph from rest up to an electronically governed 155 mph top speed. Drivers looking for more can also specify an optional increase to 174 mph.

With the help of a recuperation system, a demand-controlled oil pump and a new generation start-stop facility which increases the duration of engine ‘downtime’ at each stop, the latest RS model is capable of returning up to 34.8 mpg, corresponding to CO2 emissions of 189 g/km.

The new Audi RS3 Sportback will become available to order in March and will reach its first UK customers in the summer, with a price starting at 39.950 GBP.
