Ulrich Hackenberg, Audi’s chief technical officer, told in an interview for Auto Express, that the German car manufacturer will launch an e-tron version of the 2014 Audi A8 facelift.
 
The upcoming model will feature a 3.0 liter V6 turbodiesel engine and an electric motor. The hybrid mode will develop a combined output of 368 horsepower and 700 Nm peak of torque. 

According to Audi official, in the electric mode, the A8 e-tron will be able to cover distances of up to 30 miles and will have CO2 emissions of less than 100 grams per kilometer in the hybrid mode. 

The future e-tron system will be officially unveiled next year and the production of the A8 e-tron will start shortly after that. In these condition, we could see this technology in other big cars like Q7 or A6.
