Acura NSX Concept Unveiled

The 'dramatically-styled' Acura NSX Concept was unveiled today in Detroit, so here are the first photos showing what the brand's next performance vehicle might look like.

The NSX Concept makes use of lightweight materials and is equipped with a mid-mounted V6, while some of its technologies include Acura's new Sport Hybrid SH-AWD (Super Handling All Wheel Drive) hybrid system which according to the company, will enable a synergy between man and machine.

Takanobu Ito, president and CEO of Honda Motor Co., Ltd said that "Like the first NSX, we will again express high performance through engineering efficiency," "The NSX will make the driver one with the car to enhance dynamic driving abilities without getting in the way."

Unlike most supercars which deliver high-outputs from large engines, the NSX Concept will "champion

the true racing philosophy of an extremely favorable power-to-weight ratio.", but unfortunately we do not have any performance figures yet so we can agree.

The automaker has however specified that car's V6 features direct injection and is linked to a dual clutch transmission featuring a built in electric motor.

Acura also said that the NSX Concept was developed by an engineering team led by Honda R&D Americas, Inc., and manufactured in Ohio and that a new supercar based on this study will most likely hit the market within the next three years.
