More tuners are becoming eco-friendly these days, and one example would be Brabus, who abandoned the horsepower race in favour of more balance upgrade programs which enable a considerable boost in performance while maintaining consumption at decent levels.
This also seems to be the case with Ac Schnitzer, the well known BMW tuner, who recently changed their company’s motto into ‘Efficient Performance’ and who is introducing one of their first projects that will underline that statement.
We’re talking about the AC Schnitzer 99d BMW Z4 320d which will be showcased in Geneva in a few days and which benefits from a series of modifications that enable the 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo diesel from under its bonnet to deliver 190 HP and 420 Nm of torque instead of 163 HP and 380 Nm like the stock model.
The AC Schnitzer 99d BMW Z4 320d has also undergone a weight loss program which made the German coupe 230 Kg (507 lbs) lighter, and in terms of performance the car is now able to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 6.9 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 146 mph
The impressive part is that the AC Schnitzer 99d BMW Z4 320dis capable of covering 100 Km on just 3.8-litres of fuel (61.9 US mpg) and emits just 99.18 grams of CO2 per Km.
The AC Schnitzer 99d BMW Z4 320d price however is equally impressive, at 149,000 Euro.
