Opel wanted to brake some records with the new generation Corsa, so it introduced the most efficient version in its history. The small segment hatchback is offered with a new 1.3 liters CDTI Ecoflex unit, marked as an A+ efficient engine.

The performance is possible with the help of the revamped engine and also thanks to a new Easytronic gearbox. This way, the three-door 95 hp 1.3 CDTI ecoFlex with Start/Stop technology fitted as standard, low-rolling-resistance tires and braking energy recuperation combined with the new Easytronic 3.0 transmission can reduce CO2 emissions to 82 grams per kilometer.

There is more to that, as the fuel consumption can post an average of only 3.1 liters/100 km (75 mpg), a number that stands for a new record in the segment. The new Corsa is the most economical Opel presently on the market and the most economical diesel available.

Coming back to the engine, the CDTI offers a maximum torque of 190 Nm at 1,750 – 2,500 rpm in combination with the latest generation turbocharger. But this is nothing without the five-speed Easytronic 3.0, which weighs less and has lower internal friction than a conventional automatic transmission.

It combines the advantages of a comfortable automatic transmission with the efficiency of a manual transmission. The automated transmission is combined with Start/Stop technology that reduces fuel consumption even further especially in urban areas.

The new Corsa Ecoflex will be available for Germany from March.
