2015 Mazda MX-5 Miata was officially unveiled in a worldwide event, held simultaneously in Japan, USA and Spain. The new generation embodies 'KODO - Soul of Motion' design, but takes it to another level with its aggressiveness.

Borrowing the lines of its older brothers, the Mazda6 and Mazda3, new MX-5 features sharper headlights and taillights. The back end is similar to that of the original BMW Z4, while the bigger wheels arches and alloy wheels complete the profile.

Even if it looks bigger than the old model, it does not mean it is. According to Mazda, the new generation MX-5 is actually smaller than the old model. It is 105mm shorter overall, 20mm lower, but 10mm wider than its predecessor.

The new MX-5 is based on a new platform, built mainly from aluminum. This makes the car 100 kilograms lighter than the old model and offers the new MX-5 a lower center of gravity, the lower in the history of MX-5.

The interior is a copy after what we saw on the Mazda3, but in a sportier way. It was simplified, with less knobs and buttons, but with a 7 inch tablet, a sporty steering wheel and nice leather wrapped sport seats.

The engine range will include a 1.5 liter petrol that will be used to attract customers who want an affordable MX-5. The unit will deliver 100 hp and 150 Nm, same resources as seen on current Mazda3. There will also be a new 2.0 liter petrol, with more resources.

Sales and deliveries will begin in 2015, promising to continue the success we have seen until now. As of July 2014, total production volume of the Mazda MX-5 exceeded 940,000 units and it continues to hold the Guinness World Record for the best-selling two-seater sports car.
