After it was introduced for the first time during this year Geneva Motor Show, the 2015 Jeep Renegade is ready for its European market debut.

The car, set to become a global model, sold in more than 100 countries, will be produced inside Fiat`s Melfi plant in Italy. Based on the current Fiat 500L, the new Renegade is a small SUV set to compete with cars like the Nissan Juke or Mini Countryman.

On the European market, the car will be available in four trim levels: Sport, Longitude, Limited and Trailhawk. Also available at launch will be the special Opening Edition. First units will reach European clients in the fourth quarter of this year.

The engine range will include two petrol units, both MultiAir2, one delivering 140 hp and one 170 hp. There will also be a new e.torQ petrol with 120 hp, acting as an entry-level unit.

Those who like efficiency will have to choose between two Multijet II units, one with 170 hp and other with 185 hp. The engines can be mated with a standard five or six-speed manual, or with a DDCT double clutch gearbox. There will also be a 9-speed transmission, a first in the segment.

The power will be sent only to the front axle, or to both axles through Jeep Active Drive Low.
