Subaru is the latest automaker to announce a new vehicle connectivity and infotainment system at this year CES in Las Vegas. Subaru’s new system is called Starlink and is designed to meet the connectivity needs of today drivers.

Starlink will debut on the 2014 Forester and spread across the range by summer, 2013. Unfortunatelly, Starlink will only be available on those models equipped with navigation.

The system features Harman International’s Aha online service, which provides access to numerous services including CBS’ Radio, Facebook and Twitter as well as Subaru’s own EyeSight safety feature.

This last gizmo relyes on camera and radio monitoring systems and integrates adaptive cruise control, pre-collision braking, pre-collision throttle management, and vehicle lane departure and sway warning. It can even bring a vehicle traveling at up to 19 mph to a complete stop if it detects a crash is imminent.
