2013 Subaru Legacy Chinese Spec

Subaru has unveiled the 2013 Legacy Chinese spec at the 2012 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition.

The Japanese brand said that the product concept behind the 2013 Legacy was "all performance enhancement" and that this new version is improved pretty much all around (that means in terms of design, fuel efficiency, driveability and safety).

Developed with "more extensive modifications than a typical yearly model change" the 2013 Legacy Chine spec adopted the same headlamps and hexagon grille seen on other Subaru vehicles, and also comes with redesigned bumpers, new side skirts, 18 inch wheels and a 60 mm higher ground clearance.

The new Chinese spec Subaru Legacy is also 40 mm longer than its predecessor and features a new color for the center panel, front console and steering wheel switch paned (black metal instead of silver), and relocated switches for the electronic parking brake and SI-DRIVE system.

Powered by the new generation Horizontally-Opposed Boxer engine, Subaru claims that the 2013 Legacy Chinese spec is more efficient due to the fact that it uses the second generation Lineatronic CVT transmission, but the company has yet to release the exact economy figures.

In terms of driveability this new model was taken to the next level thanks to the new damper and spring rate settings and the reinforced body structure, while safety was also improved through the addition of bumper beam reinforcement and the knee airbag for the driver.
