The Spanish from Seat have recently revealed the new generation Leon hatchback, a car that is underpinned by VW's latest MQB platform. This latest model which will debut this fall at the Paris Motor Show comes with a sharp exterior look due to the more aggressive looking front fascia, the trapezoidal C pillars and also the revised taillights.

The2013 Seat Leon also features optional LED headlights, new alloy wheels,as well as an uprated interior which now makes use of quality materials, various metallic accents, a 5-inch touchscreen display part of the infotainment system and LED ambient lighting.

The new Leon's dimensions are 4,263 mm in length (-5 cm if compared to the previous generation), with a wheelbase measuring 2,636 mm (+6 cm). Its luggage compartment has also be increased by about 40 litres, as it is now able to accommodate a total volume of 380 litres.

Powertrain options for the 2013 Seat Leon will include a variety of engines among which there will be four diesel plants comprising from the company's 1.6TDI rated at rated either 89 HP (66 kW) or 104 HP (77 kW) plus the 2.0-litre TDI with outputs of 148 HP (110 kW) and 320 Nm or 181 HP (135 kW) and 380 Nm of torque.

The petrol range will include a 1.2-litre TSI unit producing 85 HP (63 kW) or 104 HP (77 kW), a 1.4-litre TSI developing 120 HP (90 kW) and a 1.8-litre TSI outputting 178 HP (132 kW).

Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DSG.
