We have fresh rumors regarding the next generation Porsche 911 GT3 which will most probably hit the market no sooner than 2013.
These details come from a member of the Rennlist forum, who has spoken to a higher-up of Porsche motorsport at the Daytona race track, and according to him the 2013 Porsche 911 GT3 will drop the manual gearbox in favor of a PDK dual clutch transmission.
The 2013 Porsche 911 GT3 is also expected to extract its juice from a new direct-injection flat-six producing somewhere around 480 HP, plus the car will be 180 to 200 lbs lighter due to the usage of composite materials.
According to the same source, the 2013 Porsche 911 GT3 will not feature any kind of hybrid technology, while the engine will be slightly pushed forward, in order to obtain better balance, similar to a mid-engine car.
The 2013 Porsche 911 GT3 info is yet to be confirmed by the Stuttgart based manufacturer.
