Mini is targeting the young customers looking for an extreme car with its new JCW GP. We are looking at the most powerful Mini ever created, blessed with 218 hp and 280 Nm of torque.
Under the hood we have the same 1.6 turbocharged engine from the regular JCW, tuned-up and mated to a six speed manual transmission. The new JCW GP can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.3 seconds, 0.2 seconds faster than the regular JCW, and tops a maximum speed of 242 km/h.
No compromise in terms of consumption, Mini JCW GP returning an outstanding 7.1 liters for 100 kilometres. Not to mention the CO2 emissions of just 165 g/km.
The new Mini JCW GP was developed on the famous Nurburgring and is bragging with lapping the Green Hell in just 8 minutes and 23 second, faster than its predecessor.
The engineers have worked hard to tune the chassis, which uses now a coilover suspension capable of adjusting the ground clearance with maximum 20 mm.
For the exterior, the British manufacturer opted for an exclusive body paint, called Thunder Grey, and for red accents on the edging round of the bonnet opening, as well as for the exterior mirror caps and the side intakes in the front apron. There is also a bespoke aero kit, that includes among others a roof spoiler and a rear diffuser.
Mini will start taking orders for the new JCW GP starting this autumn, but you’d better hurry up because only 2000 units will be made.
