Lamborghini will use this year Los Angeles Motor Show to introduce its new Aventador LP700-4 Roadster, the convertible version of the current hyper-car.

Unveiled today in an official press release, the new Aventador roadster features a full carbon-fiber detachable roof, weighing just 6 kilograme. Lamborghini says this allows for easy handling and storage in the front compartment. The two-piece roof is made entirely from carbon fiber using various technologies such as RTM and Forged Composite.

To ensure safety for the convertible version, the cockpit was reinforced and the rear pillar has been redesigned to offer total support for the removable roof, accommodate an automatic protection system for passengers, and provide the engine compartment with ample ventilation.

Under the hood we have the same 6.5 liter aspirated V12 generating 700 hp, an ISR 7-speed gearbox and push-rod suspension. The new Aventador LP700-4 Roadster accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in only 3 seconds flat and has a maximum speed of 350 km/h.

On the interior the use of leather called Sabbia Nefertem highlights the hand-made craftsmanship of Sant’ Agata Bolognese designers and is a perfect match for the exterior in Azzuro Thetis, a colour used by lamborghini miura in 1968. The colour is rounded by a new Dione 20 and 21 inch rims.

It will cost in the neighborhood of $381,000, not including taxes and other fees.
