Apart from the Coupe, the second model unveiled by Hyundai in Chicago today is the 2013 Elentra GT.
The Elantra GT is a 5-door hatch based on the i30 that focuses on efficiency and economy, which will compete against the Ford Focus, Mazda3 and VW Golf. According to the Korean company, the GT weights less and is more aerodynamic than its rivals, plus it offers more interior space and lower consumption figures.
The engine fitted on the 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT is a 1.8-litre 4-cylinder unit developing 148 HP and 131 lb-ft of torque which is able of returning best-in-class economy figures of 28/39 mpg (city / highway), when the car is equipped with the 6-speed manual transmission.
The highway figures drop to 32 mpg on the 6-speed automatic model.
Standard equipment on the Elentra GT includes a 172-watt AM/FM/Satellite Radio/CD/MP3 audio system, iPod and USB inputs, Bluetooth connectivity, and Hyundai’s new BlueLink infotainment system. The car also comes with heated front seats, a cooled glove box and steering wheel mounted audio and cruise controls. 
Other features include leather seating surfaces, automatic headlights, side mirrors integrated with turn signals, a 10 way adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support and Clear Air Ionizer.
Pricing for the 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT was not announced yet.
